13 Jun 1993 Woolston Eyes SJ6487 Adult 1 Accepted by Cheshire Moth Group Panel January 2003 - Possibly a first cheshire county record - voucher specimen - taken at rest on a bramble leaf. Steve McWilliam comments as follows. As for whether it was VC-58 or VC-59 is debatable. As we didn't have computerised mapping systems then the grid refs were worked out from the paper map and as you can see from the grid refs provided both Bill and myself thought we were in slightly different places - actually they are our
attempts at giving a centroid reference for the site. Having just checked the Recorder map with the VC-58 overlay (attached is a map segment and the VC boundary is the red line) I have noted where I think we were (not the grid refs we both provided) - but am still unsure - hence the 2 blobs (blue
and red). One puts us just in VC-59 and the other just in VC-58. Personally
I think we were just in VC-58 (at GR SJ64788795 and not at the blob in VC-59
(SJ65008795). Rutherford's 1993 moth report states the moth was found by Steve McWilliam - I assume they were together. also referred to in Rutherford's 1993 moth report.
1990 Rostherne Mere, Rostherne SJ7484 Adult 1 Accepted by Cheshire Moth Group Panel January 2003 Rutherford's 1990 report states that the warden / Ranger John Dawson found and photographed this moth among osiers.
